The world and jazz programme at the WOMEX expo to be held this year in Cardiff from 23-27 October will feature two conference sessions, two networking meetings, and a suite of "jazz-tinged" showcase performances, the organisers say. The Europe Jazz Network will run a jazz and world networking meeting with Nod Knowles, formerly chief executive of the Bath Festival, introducing a new, as-yet-untitled, peer-to-peer network of jazz promoters currently being set up locally. Showcasing artists include Guillaume Perret & The Electric Epic; Jambinai; Lo Griyo; Amira; and Lokkhi Terra. More at www.womex.com

22 October update: See www.esip.co.uk for details of the Made in the UK showcase taking place at the same time as WOMEX. The peer-to-peer network is now called the Jazz Promotion Network http://jazzpromotionnetwork.org.uk
