London four-piece Sons of Kemet who in September debuted with their incendiary Afrojazz-flavoured album Burn [www.marlbank.net/reviews/953-hit-me-with-your-rhythm-stick] have been booked along with Iain Ballamy and Thomas Strønen’s acclaimed band Food for JazzFest Berlin, one of the autumn's major European jazz festivals. The Berlin line-up also includes Trio Ivoire; Christian Scott; Joachim Kühn Africa Connection featuring Pharoah Sanders; the Jack DeJohnette Group featuring Don Byron; Jaimeo Brown Transcendence; Ernst-Ludwig Petrowsky Jubilee; the Michał Wróblewski Trio featuring Terence Blanchard; Dafnis Prieto Proverb Trio; and the John Scofield Überjam Band.
