Lancaster Jazz Festival’s Thinking With Jazz day-long symposium is to feature panellists and keynote speakers including London Jazz Festival director John Cumming, Late Junction presenter Fiona Talkington, Improvised Music Company director Gerry Godley, academics George McKay and Tony Whyton of Salford University, Tim Wall from Birmingham City University, Kristin McGee from the university of Groningen, Matt Robinson of the Lancaster Jazz Festival, and Pete Moser from More Music. Lancaster runs from 15-22 September and this year the Neil Cowley Trio, Mancunian big band Beats & Pieces, and pianist Matthew Bourne are among the headliners, with the Allsorts Band; Olivia’s Owls; Outside Line; the Eskdale Quintet; the Zoë Gilby Quartet; and Merseyside band The Moods also set to appear.
