Dublin’s groundbreaking festival Down With Jazz, a festival that turns a 1930s plea to “to cease jazz dancing, for the sake of Róisín Dhu” on its head, returns for three nights of free-entry action in Meeting House Square in the city's Temple Bar, the organisers Improvised Music Company have confirmed. Opening night of Friday 6 September sees the Chris Engel Quintet, Nigel Mooney Band, Ripe for Rebels, and Yurodny kick the festival off; while Saturday bands are the Cormac Kenevey Quartet, Ed Deane Band, Butter, The Multiverse, and ZoiD with Horns. Sunday sees UCD Gamelan, No Crows, Dublin Guitar Night, Paul Dunlea Band, Khanda, and OuterSpaceways Inc. More at www.downwithjazz.ie
