Confirmed for a 26 August release BCCD Records are to release a new duo studio album by trumpeter Bryan Corbett and bassist-drummer-keyboardist Chris Dodd. The pair met on tour playing with Us3, the acid jazz era DJ-inspired band that was the first to officially sample the Blue Note catalogue, and during a break while back in the UK began to write and record some tunes that were to prove the genesis of the album that was initially to have been called The Journeymen.

Titled instead Green, 'The Journeymen' is now the first track. The preferred title, according to the album notes, refers to the idea that "Green is a light frequency that all living organisms share and experience.” Corbett, who also plays flugel and flute on the album, which has a modally grounded but future-jazz 'club'-flavoured atmosphere is one of the biggest jazz stars of his generation from the Midlands and was a Jerwood Rising Star at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival in 2007, while Dodd besides working with Us3 has performed with Jamiroquai, the late Bheki Mseleku, and Julian Joseph. Tracks, all originals either written separately or jointly by the pair are ‘The Journeymen’, ‘Together’, ‘Peak’, ‘Happy’, ‘On the Wall’, ‘Funk 75’, ‘Criss Cross’, ‘Frank’, ‘Crystal Waters’, ‘Green’, and ‘Prayers’.
