A closing credits song by Prince in the superb 2018 Spike Lee film, BlacKkKlansman make you know you have to stay to the end of the film and watch all the credits when a song such as this is chosen.

What a year... Heaven and Earth, Black Panther, BlacKkKlansman towering achievements all from Kamasi Washington, Ryan Coogler and Spike Lee. Surely Lee will at last get to pick up the best film and director Oscars although competition will be fierce. 

Terence Blanchard wrote the original music on the film and orchestrated it. Surely his best score for Lee, his David Axelrod time has come, all hail. The Charles Altura contributions (ex the Vigil) in our Tel’s band provide a few significant moments but the Blanchard orchestrations are what counts. Joyful moments fed in from other sources include ‘Too Late to Turn Back Now.’ SG
