With Jamie Saft, London prog-jazz and free-jazz loving label RareNoise’s unofficial house pianist, down in his studio Potterville in New York state are steeped in the tenor sax as a between-the-notes poet exemplar Bill McHenry, the Previtian virtuoso Bradley (“Brad”) Christopher Jones on double bass, and from the Bandwagon Nasheet Waits, drums.

Most of the compositions are by Saft, the standards sprinkled in include ‘Violets for Your Furs’ (which appeared on John Coltrane’s debut as a leader that is the 1957 Coltrane on Prestige). A beaut.
Blue Dream will be released on 29 June.
