Given the turn of world events we might be forgiven for switching off the news and cranking up John Adams’ masterwork Nixon in China instead? Tempting.

Or alternatively a deliciously suitable daydream might involve a newly written polka operetta mashed up with a bluegrass twist scored by Mark-Anthony Turnage based on the music for the Benny Hill show and backed by a 100-piece onstage oompah band on stilts to the siren call of a chorus of musical saws, sousaphones and the auld triangle.

Certainly worth a thought.
