To be released later this week information about Astrometrics is unusually scarce. Starting with the practically obligatory litany of a line-up, joining guitarist Matt Chander are Ross Stanley on Hammond organ and Eric Ford (best known for Partikel) on drums. Chandler is not that well known but has a few albums out already and he gigs around the London area. He debuted back in 2009 with After Midnight. That year he won a newcomer award further afield at the Cheltenham Jazz Festival. As for the style of the new record, well, it is fair to say that it is comfortably swinging mainstream-straightahead certainly well played landing somewhere close to the soulfully expansive small group style of Philly jazz legend Pat Martino. No animals were hurt in the making of this record. Anagram alert, obviously vitally important, spoiler alert, the title contains the first names of the three players.
