Sad to hear of the death at 54 of singer songwriter Bap Kennedy whose solo career was so distinctive and who achieved so much respect from fellow songwriters, musicians, fans and newcomers to his music alike. 

Kennedy, pictured above on the left at the microphone with his wife Brenda, a few years ago at an Ardhowen theatre concert, will be remembered for fine concerts such as this one from his time as a solo artist as well as his tenure during his earlier career as lead singer in 1980s rock band Energy Orchard and his many excellent songs such as ‘Strange Kid’ and  ‘Milky Way’, a co-write with Van Morrison.  SG
