Weird serendipity: not one but two piano/accordion chamber jazz duo albums are around at the moment both enchanting in their own way, Michael Wollny and Vincent Peirani’s Tandem is getting most of the publicity, their shimmering version of Björk’s ‘Hunter’ is above, producer Siggi Loch making a Zelig-like cameo in the video.

Lesser known and more cafe bar-like in its atmosphere is The Voyage by Danish pianist Thomas Clausen and Copenhagen-based accordionist Francesco Cali, much more southern European in feel although the album casts its net wide as it blends South American and European musical traditions, the music composed for a theatre play and based on a graphic novel.

Worth hunting it down on release via the Stunt label at the end of October, you can also listen to it on Spotify here
