Second helpings of a great concept in the first place, guitarists Stuart McCallum and Mike Walker (of The Impossible Gentlemen) return two years on from the release of Beholden with The Space Between, a late-November release date planned. You can listen to the opening track from the album, above. Joined by a string quartet on a number of tracks, the album was recorded at Real World in the West Country and in Manchester. Versions of Bacharach & David’s ‘Alfie’ and the Whiting/Robin/Chase standard ‘My Ideal’, first recorded by Maurice Chevalier in the 1930s, sit alongside the original material.
