The selections for next month’s showcase programme in Poland at the Europe Jazz Network’s annual conference have been announced. 

Taking place in Wrocław from 22-25 September the evening showcase programme is free for all registered participants to the Conference. The schedule runs like this:

Thursday 22 September 2016, 21.00 - 24.00, National Forum of Music Red & Black Halls: Aga Derlak Trio, Waclaw Zimpel solo, Wójciński/Szmańda Quartet. ​

Friday 23 September 2016, 21.00 - 24.00, National Forum of Music Red & Black Halls: Maciej Obara Quartet, Grzegorz Karnas, and two more to be announced. ​​

Saturday 24 September 2016, 21.00 - 24.00, National Forum of Music Red & Black Halls: Marcin Wasilewski Trio, Lutoslawski Quartet + Uri Caine, RGG, Nikola Kolodziejczyk Instant Ensemble.

Two new speakers have been added to the conference programme with Georgina Born to begin the Saturday programme with a keynote speech talking about the relation of music with public spaces versus institutionalised spaces as well as present her latest research on different forms of listening around the world. And Scott Cohen, co-founder of digital distributor Orchard, will chair a working group on ‘Strategic Communications for Cultural Organisations’ also on the Saturday morning. 

Other speakers and moderators already announced are: Danilo Pérez, Patricia Zarate, Ben Ratliff, François Matarasso, Stéphanie Touré, and An De Bisschop.
