Charting very high on US iTunes at the moment Incognito’s In Search of Better Days (earMusic ***1/2) is a real tonic, a gorgeous blend of soul and jazz, a throng of singers, including Imaani, Vanessa Haynes, Vula Malinga and Maysa, all on powerful form.

Band mastermind Bluey has serious intent in mind although the way he deals with it turns trouble on its head, the healing has begun in a sense. “We are living in troubled times and I see the plight of the young in my neighbourhood, the refugee crisis in London and all over Europe. Corruption. Child abuse. There is political, religious and financial misguided ideology all around the globe. My trade is music and social awareness,” says the guitarist. OK it is a familiar formula that the band even with changing line-ups have honed over many years but no better example to take away from all this than if it ain’t broke don’t fix it.
