Coltrane in mono, anyone? I’ll take that as a yes with the usual caveats about major labels milking back catalogues for every drop they’re worth.

It’s Atlantic period Coltrane, crucially remastered, in whopping 6-CD and 14-LP boxed sets, the work of reissue specialists Warner imprint Rhino.

There’s a replica of the original ‘My Favorite Things Part I & II’ as a 7″ single just for vinyl purchasers, the big come-on, every decent reissue needs one of these.

The package also includes a fairly modest, by deluxe reissue standards anyway, photo bestrewn 32-page booklet featuring text by the current go-to box set annotator Kind of Blue ‘biographer’ Ashley Kahn.

Price tag? Well for vinyl Amazon are quoting £101.41 (someone likes their prime numbers both in pounds and pence). On CD it’s £56.92.

The track listing disc by disc on the CD version is:
