The soundtrack to new movie Barbershop: The Next Cut is out this month.

The sequel has a score by bass superstar Stanley Clarke and features pianist Robert Glasper.

It’s Glasper’s second movie this year following on from his work on Miles Ahead.

Directed by Malcolm D. Lee with Ice Cube, Common, and Nicki Minaj among the cast, Clarke comments on his film writing: “Film has given me the opportunity to write large orchestral scores and to compose music not normally associated with myself. It’s given me the chance to conduct orchestras and arrange music for various types of ensembles. It’s been a diverse experience for me musically, made me a more complete musician, and focused my skills completely.”
