DJ Mike Chadwick, above, is leaving Jazz FM.

One of the station’s longest serving DJs he says: “I’ll be concentrating primarily on artist management, Snarky Puppy, David Crosby and Bill Laurance. I have loved my time on Jazz FM and am immensely proud to have been part of this wonderful station in all its incarnations for the last 22 years.”

On jazzfm.com there is also mention of the changes and a new look weekend late night schedule beginning in early-April with Jez Nelson moving over from Radio 3 for a Sunday show from 10pm, while Chris Philips’ Saturday show The Blueprint will begin at the earlier time of 10pm. Solar DJ Ruth Fisher, who has covered for Mike Chadwick recently, will be presenting a regular show from 1am on Sundays. The Jazz FM website quotes content director Nick Pitts who pays tribute to Mike Chadwick: “It’s sad to have to say goodbye to a presenter like Mike with his musical knowledge after 22 years and I wish him all the very best.” SG
