Cécile McLorin Salvant, pictured above at Ronnie Scott’s last year, has won at the 2016 Grammys for her album For One To Love in the jazz vocals category going one better from a previous nomination when she debuted.

Other new Grammy recipients include John Scofield (jazz instrumental album), Maria Schneider (large jazz ensemble album and arranger categories), Eliane Elias (latin jazz album), Snarky Puppy (contemporary instrumental album), Arturo O’Farrill (instrumental composition), Antonio Sánchez (soundtrack for visual media), Tony Bennett and Bill Charlap (traditional pop vocal album), and bassist Christian McBride (for improvised jazz solo).
