Listen above to an excerpt from Strange Folk by Twelves, the latest album from saxophonist/flautist Mark Hanslip’s band of experimentalists, the album more folk-orientated they say “but still with group improvisation at its core.”

Hanslip in Twelves is joined by bassist Riaan Vosloo, guitarist Rob Updegraff and ex-Fraud drummer Tim Giles who is still best known in his teenage years for the Iain Ballamy-mentored Hungry Ants.

Twelves debuted in 2008 with Here Comes the Woodman with his Splintered Soul and changed to current label Babel for the follow-up The Adding Machine released three years later. updated audio 13/1/16
