Launching his second album Wild Life with his quartet at Kings Place on 15 January, the Electric Biddle’s Hannes Riepler has kept faith with his sometime label Jellymould Jazz.

Since The Brave released three years ago, Riepler, a skilled bebop-inspired jam session leader on the currently very active London jazz jam session scene, has moved over from the now defunct Charlie Wright’s club in Hoxton to the Vortex in Dalston where he continues to lead the successful Sunday night session. It’s an all-new band on the latest album.

At Kings Place and on tour Riepler will be joined by featured US tenor saxophone star Chris Cheek, still known for his long tenure spanning a decade in the Paul Motian Electric Bebop Band, and also by double bassist Oli Hayhurst and Tetra drummer James Maddren completing the band. The London quartet date is preceded by Cardiff (12 January) and Cambridge (14 Jan) appearances.
