The organisers of Jazzahead have announced who their jury-selected 40 bands are for the 2016 showcases that are to take place at the Exhibition centre and the Schlachthof cultural centre between 21 and 24 April.

Two of the 40 bands drawn from more than a dozen countries emerged out of the UK scene and these are trumpeter Laura Jurd’s fourpiece Dinosaur, above; and drummer Mark Holub’s punk-jazz two-sax Ornette Coleman-inspired veterans, Led Bib.
