Riot Jazz Brass Band return with their second album in the autumn and play some dates in Leeds, London and Manchester ahead of release.

Titled Incoming! the new album of 11 tracks is to be released on 7 November through the Manchester band’s own label Riot Jazz Records.

Around for the last five years the nine piece featuring trumpets, trombones, sousaphone, drums and MC vocals fronted by MC/DJ/producer MC Chunky released a debut EP ‘Gives You the Horn’ back in 2010 followed by an album Sousamaphone two years ago. The new album was recorded on home turf at Blueprint Studios in Manchester.

Album material has been written by a range of band members including trumpeter Nick Walters (best known for his tenure in Beats & Pieces Big Band), drummer Steve Pycroft, trumpeter Sam Warner and MC Chunky who also contributes lyrics on several tracks.

With past collaborations including the likes of chart acts Plan B and London Elektricity Incoming, with a fun-loving good time party-funky and rap-flavoured vibe, also features a fast and furious guest spot by MC Tonn Piper on ‘Checkmate’ set up as “jazz heads versus junglists.”

Dates coming up include the Wardrobe, Leeds on 3 October; Jazz Cafe London on 7 October; and Gorilla, Manchester, 23 October.
