Jam band Galactic are having a moment as they currently ride high at the top of the Billboard jazz chart with Into the Deep, the title track and lead-off single of which can be listened to above.

20 years together Galactic – currently saxophonist Ben Ellman, bassist Robert Mercurio, drummer Stanton Moore, guitarist Jeff Raines and Hammond organist Rich Vogel – are joined on their latest album by Mofro’s JJ Grey,  ‘I Try’ hitmaker Macy Gray, who features on the title track, and gospel legend Mavis Staples.
