Stuart McCallum has a new album, City, now all set to get a release at the tail end of the summer.

The north-west England guitar kingpin is joined on this latest Naim release by the likes of bass guitarist Robin Mullarkey, Trichotomy’s Sean Foran on Rhodes electric piano and by drummer Richard Spaven who has co-written and produced the album plus an array of guest singers.

With an electronica flavour it’s four years since Distilled, a well received album that put the Manc player, best known for his work with the Cinematic Orchestra, firmly on the map as a leader.

City comes out on 28 August and before that McCallum plays a pre-release show with musicians and some of the singers who appear on the album with him at the Manchester Jazz Festival.
