Appearing with Snarky Puppy on the new album Sylva released earlier this month the Metropole Orkest may have just pulled off one of the finest orchestral-jazz showings to surface in years.

Their conductor Jules Buckley who also arranges material on the album is to make two appearances at this summer’s BBC Proms leading both the Heritage Orchestra, with whom he first made his name, and the Metropole in two separate proms.

The first, on 29 July, finds him conducting the Heritage Orchestra for a Radio 1 prom presented by DJ Pete Tong featuring hit soul singer John ‘Love Me Again’ Newman and Jess Glynne, the featured vocalist on Clean Bandit smash ‘Rather Be’.

The Metropole appearance is on 12 August with rapper Wretch 32 and R&B singer singer Shola ‘You Might Need Somebody’ Ama among the guests artists scheduled to appear.
