Recorded in Oslo in July last year and due to be released by ECM in the UK the day before Gary Peacock turns 80 on 12 May Now This is a new trio album from the Keith Jarrett standards trio bassist on which he is joined by John Abercrombie pianist Marc Copland and by former Bill Frisell drummer Joey Baron.

Peacock compositions ‘Moor, from the Paul Bley with Gary Peacock album recorded in the 1960s but not released until the early 70s, and which also featured on 80s ECM album Voice from the Past: Paradigm; ‘Vignette,’ from 1977’s trio album Tales of Another by the trio that later took on the moniker of the Jarrett “Standards trio”; ‘Requiem’ from late-1980s album Guamba on which Peacock was joined by Jan Garbarek, Palle Mikkelborg and Peter Erskine; and ‘Gaya’ from 1990s Ralph Towner duo album Oracle are all one theme of the album. Copland and Baron material plus Scott La Faro’s 'Gloria’s Step’ are among the remaining tracks. SG
