Appearing at Belfast’s Brilliant Corners festival on 28 March in a rare solo appearance Henry Cow legend, leg end even, avant guitarist Fred Frith has a new album called Backscatter Bright Blue just out, a duo release featuring Frith in collaboration with double bassist Barry Guy.

The album, bookended by two long improvisations: the 20 minute-plus ‘Where The Cities Gleam In Darkness’ and 18-minute ‘Moments Full of Many Lives,’ was recorded in Switzerland eight years ago and is released by the Intakt label. Samples of the album can be listened to here
