Eliane Elias is back with a new album Made in Brazil to be released by Concord Records at the end of March in the US, with a UK release shortly afterwards.

Featuring Elias compositions plus Ary Barroso, Roberto Menescal and Antônio Carlos Jobim songs the album has been co-produced by two bassists: the singer-pianist’s husband the former Bill Evans sideman Marc Johnson, and also by ex-Pat Metheny Group Impossible Gentleman Steve Rodby.

Brazilian musicians joining Elias include bass guitarist Marcelo Mariano; guitarists Marcus Teixeira & Roberto Menescal; drummers Edu Ribeiro & Rafael Barata and percussionists Mauro Refosco & Marivaldo dos Santos. Guests include Take Six’s Mark Kibble, Elias’ daughter singer Amanda Brecker and Brazilian singer Ed Motta. Orchestral arrangements on the majority of the tracks were recorded at Abbey Road performed by members of the LSO. Stephen Graham
