There’s a new Joey Calderazzo album in the pipeline, scheduled to be released in late-March just a month after the celebrated jazz pianist turns 50.

A live version of ‘All of Me’ from the trio

This new album Going Home finds the long-time Branford Marsalis pianist and ex-Michael Brecker sideman in trio mode joined once again by US-based British double bassist Orlando Le Fleming who appeared on 2013's Live, and this time around new drummer Adam Cruz (on the earlier Live album Calderazzo’s drummer was Donald Edwards).

Material is mainly the New York state-born North Carolina-based player’s own tunes. And they are the 12 tone row-derived ‘Manifold’; ballad ‘I Never Knew’ featuring Branford Marsalis on tenor saxophone; ‘Why Me’ (a version of ‘All of Me’); ‘Legend’; ‘One Way’ (featured on 2011’s Songs of Mirth and Melancholy); ‘Mike’s Song’ (written for Michael Brecker); title track ‘Going Home,’ plus standards ‘Stars Fell On Alabama’ and ‘My Foolish Heart.’
