Moses Boyd – a member of Zara McFarlane’s band and the Peter Edwards trio – and who along with saxophonist Binker Golding (seen together live above) has recorded Dem Ones to be released by Gearbox Records this year, is just announced as one of the PRS for Music Foundation and Steve Reid Foundation-backed artists selected in the Steve Reid InNOVAtion Awards.

Boyd plus Sarathy Korwar, Wu-Lu, Hector Plimmer, and Lady Vendredi will receive bursaries and be mentored by Gilles Peterson, Four Tet, Theo Parrish, Floating Points, Rocketnumber Nine, Emanative, Charlie Dark and Koreless as part of the scheme.

The Exodus drummer, and Tomorrow’s Warrior alumnus, is 23 and studied at Trinity Laban. He appeared on MOBO-winning McFarlane album If You Knew Her released last year.
