Hard on the heels of Pocket Compass Trish Clowes returns to the road next month.

The saxophonist’s latest album featured in part her own small band Tangent and this former BBC New Generation artist whose playing style draws to mind Iain Ballamy’s approach a little continues to be strongly inspired by Wayne Shorter while other prompts on the album include a poem by Oscar Wilde at the heart of it all. Touring with her quintet: that’s Impossible Gentleman Gwilym Simcock, Alex Monk or Mike Walker in for Chris Montague on some dates; Empirical’s Tom Farmer in for Calum Gourlay again at some gigs; and Bunch of 5’s James Maddren, dates are: Walton-on-Thames (20 Feb), London (23 Feb), Leeds (26), Sheffield (27), and Wolverhampton (28).
