Trumpeter Tom Arthurs features on new album Ticho, a trio album of music by the Berlin pianist and composer Marc Schmolling, the line-up completed by German singer/voice artist Almut Kühne.

Issued by the Swiss avant label Unit the album was recorded in a Berlin studio in November 2013, the title meaning ‘silence’ in Czech.

2015 will also see albums from the Berlin-based Arthurs, a former BBC New Generation artist, teaming with Isambard Khroustaliov, and he’s on A Clear Midnight: Kurt Weill and America with Julia Hülsmann, a quintet album reworking Weill expected in the spring. Tom Arthurs, above. Photo: Gustav Eckart
