Bassistry

Bassistry are to release a new album in 2015 returning with the uncompromisingly titled What The Hell Do You Call This? due to appear in late-March.

Led and co-produced by bassist Marcel Pusey who has written all the funk, soul, and latin-flavoured songs on the album recorded at London studio Gravity Shack.

Musicians appearing on What The Hell... include ex-Empirical trumpeter Jay Phelps, rock and film session violinist Sonia Slany, Professor Green drummer Sam ‘Blue’ Agard, Bollywood Brass Band drummer Philippe d’Amonville, guitarist Eric Appapoulay (who first surfaced with Quite Sane in the 1990s) and soul singer Imaani joining Bassistry singers Katy Seath and Nicola Bull on a heavily vocals-flavoured affair.

Bassistry first emerged in the mid-1990s influenced by funk and M-BASE and their albums to date are the self-titled Bassistry and In Time.
