Bassist Jack Bruce, best known for his work with legendary rock band Cream, has died of liver disease, it has just been reported by various sources including the BBC and The Guardian.

Bruce was a huge contributor to the British blues scene in the 60s and beyond playing with Alexis Korner’s Blues Inc, the Graham Bond Organisation, and John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers among other bands. His solo work included 14 albums, the last of which was Silver Rails released in March this year. Bruce was 71.
