An exciting new Jaco Pastorius 22-track 2-CD Anthology: The Warner Bros Years is set for release next month.

Compiled via the label’s London office by Florence Halfon tracks from the bass guitar innovator’s three albums for the label, 1981’s studio set Word of Mouth, big band concert album The Birthday Concert recorded the same year, and Invitation, another live album recorded in Japan the following year, are featured.

Pastorius guest spots on Airto’s 1970s album I’m Fine How Are You and Mike Stern’s 86 album Upside Downside also make the cut, plus an unreleased version of ‘Donna Lee’. The Anthology release date is 24 November.
