Rare Irish dates pop up on the horizon soon for gigs featuring legendary drummer Louis Moholo-Moholo with his quartet in Belfast at the Crescent Arts Centre on 30 October, followed next day with the South African master improviser in duo with pianist Alexander Hawkins in Dublin at the National Concert Hall’s Kevin Barry Room.

For the Belfast date Moholo-Moholo is joined in his quartet by Alex Hawkins, who was recently in Belfast with Steve Davis’ band Human; by MY Duo sax star Jason Yarde; and by bass dynamo John Edwards who also plays in Hawkins’ formidable Sun Ra-influenced band, Decoy.
