Late-October sees the publication of the authorised biography of Robert Wyatt.
Published by Serpent’s Tail, it’s the first biography of Wyatt, the introduction written by Jonathan Coe.
Authored by Marcus O’Dair the biography traces Wyatt’s early days as a drummer and singer for Soft Machine, through the life-changing ramifications he experienced after falling from a fourth-floor window and becoming paralysed from the waist down.
As a singer and jazz-influenced composer Wyatt’s life also changed, and his audience and cult reputation as an artist of major cultural significance with it. Interviewees include Björk, Brian Eno, David Gilmour and Hot Chip.
