The distinguished beat, David Meltzer, has contributed a foreword in the City Lights edition of Van Morrison’s lyrics, Lit Up Inside. Meltzer is the author of, among other volumes of poetry, No Eyes: Lester Young, the cover of which is above. Ian Rankin, as previously reported in the spring, has written the foreword to the Faber edition.
