Raul Midón has a new album called Don't Hesitate on the horizon scheduled for an autumn release, the latest from a musician who The New York Times have described, with understandable enthusiasm, as “a one-man band who turns a guitar into an orchestra and his voice into a chorus.” The new album has R&B, jazz, and latin elements, with new tunes including ‘Libertad,’ and ‘Was It Ever Really Love’, the cover of Pete Townshend’s ‘I Can See for Miles’ (from The Who Sell Out) one of the talking points. Recorded in the guitarist’s home studio and self-produced, Dianne Reeves and Lizz Wright guest on ‘Make It Better’ and ‘Keep Holding On,’ with Bill Withers singing in Spanish and bassists Marcus Miller and Richard Bona appearing on ‘Mi Amigo Cubano’. The album is released by Mack Avenue in the UK/Ireland on 29 September.
