The award winning Nigel Price Organ Trio's new album Hit The Road is released later this month on 21 July and in the video above the trio perform Freddie Hubbard’s ‘Up Jumped Spring’ a tune that features in the album studio version as the second track. Other tunes on the 33 Records release include Billy Strayhorn’s ‘Chelsea Bridge’, the rarely heard Henry Mancini tune ‘Dreamsville’, and Herb Ellis’ ‘Detour Ahead’. The trio, that’s guitarist Nigel Price with​ Pete Whittaker on Hammond organ and Matt Home ​drums, are joined by guesting tenor saxophonist Vasilis Xenopoulous ​on ‘Hot Seat (Chas’ Chair’)’. Chas, no not as in Chas & Dave, but Chas as in Charlie Christian. A Minton's Playhouse chair named in the pioneering jazz guitarist’s honour (also signed by Wes Montgomery and Herb Ellis) Price now owns.
