_{America's highest jazz honours}

Carla Bley, saxophonists George Coleman and Charles Lloyd, and club owner Joe Segal have just been announced as the 2015 recipients of the National Endowment of the Arts’ NEA Jazz Masters fellowships. Joe Segal receives the A.B. Spellman award for jazz advocacy. The jazz masters awards recognise lifetime achievement and exceptional contributions to the advancement of jazz, while the Spellman award is bestowed upon an individual who has contributed significantly to the appreciation, knowledge, and advancement of the art form of jazz. The honorees will be celebrated at an awards event and concert next April in New York.
