Brad Mehldau appears on a just released new album The Original Mob led by the sole surving member of the Kind of Blue band, Jimmy Cobb. With Cobb and Mehldau are guitarist Peter Bernstein and bassist John Webber. The album was recorded earlier this year at the Smoke Jazz Club in Harlem and material includes Brad's ‘Unrequited’, the standards ‘Old Devil Moon’, which opens the album, and the Jerome Kern composition ‘Nobody Else But Me.’ Cobb’s most recent appearance in London was at Ronnie Scott’s jazz club last summer performing memorably with the Jazz Heads.
