ith his latest album The Son of a Bluesman released recently new dates for Lucky Peterson are now confirmed for London jazz shrine Ronnie Scott’s on 1-2 September before his appearance at Monaghan town’s Harvest Time Blues festival later in September. The Buffalo, New York State-born singer-guitarist-organist who turns 50 later this year, on this latest album melds his own original compositions with covers of songs associated with the late Bobby Blue Bland as well as delving deep into the soulful sound of Wilson Pickett for additional flavours. Peterson was a child prodigy appearing on the Ed Sullivan Show and in an extensive career to date has chalked up recording and performance credits with Albert Collins, B.B. King, and Mavis Staples among others. Debuting with Verve album I’m Ready in 1993, more recent records include 2012's Live at the 55 Arts Club Berlin and Every Second A Fool Is Born. Truly the son of a bluesman Peterson's father James Peterson also owned a nightclub in Buffalo called the Governor's Inn.
