Ray Charles died on 10 June 10 years ago and to remember the Genius in suitable fashion Warner Jazz are to release, on the day before this anniversary of his passing, a three-CD set King of Cool: The Genius of Ray Charles, reflecting a substantial part of just how Charles changed the face of music during a seven-decade career. The set full of remastered tracks covers the Genius’ groundbreaking Atlantic years from 1952-59, and includes ‘Sinner’s Prayer’, a take of ‘Tell Me How Do You Feel’ and ‘Let the Good Times Roll’, these latter three only available until now on the Genius box set.
