Not before time Gregory Porter finally won a Grammy for best vocal jazz album awarded for the singer's first album for Blue Note, Liquid Spirit. Wayne Shorter won for best improvised jazz solo for ‘Orbits’ on the saxophonist's album Without a Net, so a good night for Blue Note here as well, while Terri Lyne Carrington achieved further Grammy success following her success two years ago by winning for Money Jungle: Provocative In Blue in the best jazz instrumental album category.
