Quercus pianist Huw Warren is to tour ‘Tails for Wales’ with a quintet featuring his former Perfect Houseplants bandmate, Polar Bear saxophonist Mark Lockheart, among an ensemble that draws on the large pool of talent from the new Welsh creative jazz scene. They’re to perform music that owes its origins to Warren’s 1997 acclaimed Babel chamber jazz album, A Barrel Organ Far From Home.

The tour in March visits Ucheldre Centre Holyhead (11); Theatr Brycheiniog, Brecon (12); Gwyn Hall, Neath (13); and the Royal Welsh College of Music and Drama, Cardiff (14) with the full band comprising Warren, Lockheart, Maria Lamburn (viola, bass clarinet), Huw V Williams (bass), and Zoot Warren (drums).
