Bad Plus

The Bad Plus will release the trio’s own take on Stravinsky’s The Rite of Spring in April, a new album that marks their return to Sony whose Columbia label they recorded These Are The Vistas, Give, Suspicious Activity, and Blunt Object Live in Tokyo for before moving to Universal.

The new album, to be issued under the Masterworks imprint, has its origins in a commission by Duke University and Lincoln Center and follows multi-media performances in 2011. This will be their first album since Made Possible (2012), their best since their early life comet-like FSNT epic The Bad Plus. Frequent visitors to UK and Ireland concert halls and clubs where they're a popular draw the new deal according to publicity material circulated is a “multi-album” one, and Sony’s jazz label OKeh will release a second album, also in 2014.
