Gwilym Simcock’s next album will be Instrumation, the pianist's management has confirmed, a collaboration with the City of London Sinfonia, bassist Yuri Goloubev (Blues Vignette) and drummer Martin France, to be released by Munich label ACT records. Simcock, who has been touring recently with The Impossible Gentlemen, will perform on Friday 10 January at a launch gig in London venue Kings Place for the album with violinist Thomas Gould, Goloubev, cellist Gabriella Swallow, and France (Spin Marvel, John Taylor trio). Simcock will also play separately at the concert as part of the baritone saxophone-led trio of Céline Bonacina along with Trio Libero bassist Michel Benita.
