The Guinness Cork Jazz Festival has now announced details of this year’s fringe festival, and there’s a big range of highly varied events in this strand of the programming, including a music and printworks installation, street entertainment, a jazz ball, swing dancing classes, jazz in a local wildlife park, a movies strand, food fair, gospel service, photo exhibitions and much more. The main concerts of the festival, which runs in Cork city from 25-28 October, include Nile Rodgers and Chic, the Mingus Big Band, Billy Cobham’s Spectrum 40, Portico Quartet, Snarky Puppy, Courtney Pine in a double bill with singer René Marie, Bugge Wesseltoft, Perico Sambeat, and Dino Saluzzi.
