Liam Noble’s Brother Face is to embark on its first tour in the autumn beginning a week on Friday. It's a seven-date string of gigs playing brand new music of Noble's. The pianist, best known as a member of Christine Tobin’s band as well as recent Ellington in Anticipation touring and recording [http://www.marlbank.net/news/301-265-2], will gig in quintet formation with Big Air trumpeter Chris Batchelor and Sons of Kemet saxophonist/clarinettist Shabaka Hutchings joining Noble's Brubeck trio partners bassist Dave Whitford and drummer Dave Wickins. The tour begins in Wakefield at the Sports Club in Eastmoor Road on 20 September followed by Fleece Jazz, Leavenheath (27 Sept); MAC Birmingham (8 October); Hive theatre, Shrewsbury (12 Oct); Millennium Hall, Polish Centre, Sheffield (18 Oct); the Verdict, Brighton (1 November); and Vortex, London (8 Nov).
